How to choose
- Office 2024 or Microsoft 365: Office 2024 is paid for once and installed on one Windows PC, with no OneDrive and no new features; Microsoft 365 is a subscription to renew, kept up to date, with OneDrive, on PC, Mac and mobile.
- On a Mac: Microsoft 365 works on a Mac; Office 2024, Project and Visio cannot be installed on a Mac.
- Project and Visio are part of neither Office 2024 nor Microsoft 365 Personal or Family. According to Microsoft, they can be installed on the same PC as a Microsoft 365 subscription, under three conditions given on their pages.
- Windows 11 Pro: if the PC runs Windows 11 Home, the key moves it to Pro, as Microsoft states. The key does not make a PC compatible if it fails the system requirements given on the product’s page.
