Description

WinRAR is file compression software for Windows: it creates and opens archives in the common formats, and can protect them with a password and encrypt them.

It suits anyone who sends, organises or backs up files by bundling them and reducing their size.

“Lifetime · Activation key” option: you receive by e-mail an activation key, together with the download instructions; the key registers your copy of WinRAR. Without a licence, the publisher allows a 40-day trial.

Under the publisher’s terms, the licence covers one computer; a home user may, however, use it on all the computers and mobile devices they own. The publisher states that WinRAR is fully compatible with Windows 11.

Installation and activation

This guide installs WinRAR for Windows and registers your copy with the “Lifetime · Activation key” option.

Open your delivery message

Your order contains the licence archive rarkey.rar, with its download link. Download it and keep it for step 4. WinRAR registers with this file, with no online activation.

Open the WinRAR download page. Choose your language and the Windows version for your PC. The installer is offered.

Double-click the downloaded file. Follow the installer screens. Open WinRAR when setup finishes.
Register your copy

Open rarkey.rar in WinRAR with a double-click and confirm registration. A success message appears.
Check the licence

Open Help → About WinRAR. Your registration details appear. Keep a backup of the licence file.
